Who Are We?
Since 1852, Muncie Baptist Church has been "Growing God's Kingdom" right here in East Central Illinois. We're a friendly, small town church, and we welcome people to join us in a wonderful fellowship of believers and followers of Jesus. The focus of our worship is the proclaimation of God's Word.
Pastor Todd Creason became our Senior Pastor in February of 2024, and we welcome his pastoral leadership and strong preaching. Josh Hunsberger has been our Youth Pastor since September of 2014, and he leads a thriving group of enthusiastic young believers.
Worship attendance averages about 90 people for worship. Our members come from Muncie, but also from the wider area community. Muncie Baptist Church is a mission-minded church that believes in both local mission needs like the Oakwood Food Pantry and Christian mission work throughout the world.
Sunday Service:
Sunday School for adults and kids begins at 9 AM. We have have refreshments in our Fellowship Hall from 9:40 until our worship service begins at 10 AM. The Youth Group meets at 6 PM on Sundays. Pastor Todd and our secretary Paula Mitchell keep office hours on Wednesday and Friday mornings from 9 a.m. to Noon. Pastor Todd is available at other times by appointment. Location:
Muncie is located 12 miles West of Danville, IL on Route 150; 22 miles East of Urbana. Take the Fithian Exit, #200, on I-74 if you are coming from Urbana. Turn right (South) to the stop sign. Turn left on Route 150 and travel about 2 miles. Muncie is on your left. The address of the church is 205 Main Street, Muncie, IL
The Live Nativity:
Muncie Baptist Church is best known in the area for our Annual Live Nativity. Held in December each year for more than 35 years, it was the first live Nativity scene in the area. This solemn presentation of the nativity features costumed characters and live animals. Hundreds of guests drive through each year to remember the coming of the Messiah. The Live Nativity has become a cherished family tradition for many in the area. People are invited to park north of the church and come inside for crafts for children and a meal. Any donations the church receives go toward local mission needs.
