The Live Nativity Muncie Baptist Church is best known for our Live Nativity. First presented by Muncie Baptist Church in 1981, it was the first live Nativity scene in the area. This solemn presentation of the nativity features costumed characters and live animals. Hundreds of guests drive through each year to remember the coming of the Messiah. Visitors also enjoy refreshments and crafts for the children. All donations the church receives during the Live Nativity go toward local mission needs.
Our Mission Work Muncie is a small church with a big heart! We are committed to the Great Commission, in both local, national and international missions. We have a passion for serving Jesus and others. Local missions provide help to Oakwood students' school supplies. Christmas gifts are provided in cooperation with the school social worker.
Local Missions & The Oakwood Food Pantry Muncie Baptist Church is involved with the Oakwood Food Pantry which provides weekly food distributions every Tuesday. The Church helps local people who are in need of help. Decisions to help others who need help are reviewed by the Missions Committee.
Yearly Highlights Highlights in our year include choir musicals during the Christmas and Easter Seasons. Vacation Bible School is held each Summer. About 40 children ages 5 to 11 usually participate.
Other Activities A game night is held once a month with a variety of games. It's purpose is to help people get acqainted with one another. Christians know how to have good clean fun! We also have periodic evening Bible studies, special events, and (of course) church suppers.
Listen on Mondy evenings to "Unshackled," a radio drama based on true stories. The Munice Baptist Church sponsors this program on WITY 980 AM each Monday at 9:05 PM. Let the story they share inspire you in your walk with Christ!
